I'm most excited to see the impact that both new players, as well as positioned swapped players will have on our formerly abysmal defense. The last place defense received a couple huge upgrades this off season through a number of methods.
Brian Mills, the number one overall draft pick beefs up the weak front seven from the linebacker position. Joseph Askins made the swap to defensive tackle from the tight end spot and was replaced by the Second Line's second first round pick, Poopyface Tomatonose. Lastly, Dominic Verns and Adamle Tomlinson are headed to New Orleans. While neither are spectacular or elite at their positions, safety and defensive line, respectively, they are massive upgrades over the college level players whose spots they'll be taking.
It's a very good look for this franchise to be taking advantage of so many methods in which they can approve themselves. They need all the help they can get. First step is surpassing fellow basement dwellers, the Yeti. Then they can focus on the rest of the league. Incremental changes coming in baby steps are the way this team will succeed. Perhaps a FA splash is in their future, however. It wouldn't be the worst thing.
