The Yeti have added a couple of key pieces in the latest off-season. The draft was a win for us, picking up a key draft pick for next year in addition to getting the guys we wanted. So far, it’s easy to see that Dwayne Aaron is going to be a difference maker. His presence in the locker room is a big one, and it's just a matter of time until he starts putting up big numbers.
But the biggest addition for me, personally, is a guy who changes the way I play and makes me more responsible every day. I'm talking of course about our biggest free agent acquisition in years, A.C. Hackett. To have finally completed construction on what may be our strongest position group, Saint’s Row, feels like the beginning of a new era. We can already see a difference in practice every day. Saint is out there calling the shots and making plays like he always does. I’m doing what I can, calling out coverage audibles and identifying what the offense is giving us. And now we have Hackett, who is a machine. He racks up tackles all over the field, showing up in places before the offense even thinks to get a blocker out on him. My position group is finally complete, and for the next couple of years, you can expect the middle of the field to be locked down.
