It wasn't done for Hunt and it's super confusing like that. Just my thought

Admittedly, it is super confusing. The difference between this and other names changes is that I'm specifically treating it as a new character. As far as I know, it's the first time this has been done with a player and it may turn out to be the last if it proves too troublesome. I'm willing to be the guinea pig, though.

There are a few reasons behind the move:
(1) I've always been attached to Kennedy as a RB and had reservations about position changing, even to a similar position like WR. He's known for being a receiver, which is fine, but that was never my initial plan for him, just the role that he ended up falling into. (I didn't know Nuck was going to go IA when I went receiving back. Otherwise, I'd probably have gone speed or multi-purpose, so I could focus on being a pure RB.)
(2) The massive success in S5 that came as the result of the sim favoring RB receivers tainted the Kennedy name. Moving to a new name and position will hopefully lead to a fresh start. (Also, per my response to slm, I'm fine with excluding my S5/S6 season stats in HoF decision-making.)
(3) I was actually considering legit retiring Kennedy at the start of S7 to try something new. This was a way for me to "start over" without directly harming my team. Admittedly, this is probably me trying to have it both ways, but I thought it was a creative solution.
