Eric Kennedy has experimented with a variety of training methods over the course of his NSFL career, starting with a power-heavy routine back in his early days as a Running Back and later transitioning to a leaner, more speed-based approach as he moved into the Wide Receiver position. However, now 8 years into his career, his primary focus these day is longevity. Yellowknife’s top WR has made it known that he will be hanging up his boots after the S10 season is over, but that still leaves 2 seasons to play and he is dead-set on staying healthy through that duration. And that means a lot of changes on the practice field.
NSFL athletes are trained to push their bodies to the limit. They often spend long days on the field, running schemes and drills, and evenings in the team gym. For older athletes, though. They have to be careful not to push themselves too far or all that extra time could backfire. So, Kennedy mostly sticks to the essentials, making sure not to lose sight of his own limitations. Despite this, he’s managed to remain impressively effective on the field, hanging in there with some of the quickest and best WRs in the game today. Experts expected him to take a step back this season, but it’s been hardly noticeable in the pre-season games. Nonetheless, Kennedy remains determined to stay smart about the way he approaches the practice field.
