Kevin Fitzpatrick is conditioning himself for his rookie season as a quarterback, a process he refers to as “getting ready to be unready.” Despite former DSFL teammates telling him he’ll be fine, he knows that rookie QBs have not had much success, especially Applehort and Pennington. The two were sacked over 150 times in their combined rookie seasons, so Fitz is getting his body ready. He’s doing all sorts of leg exercises and sprints in hopes of quick breakaways from defensive tackles, though he knows he has no chance against faster defensive ends and linebackers. For them he is doing a series of core exercises to keep his spine and organs in place as he gets rocked about 4 times per game. He also looked in to some exercises to work on his arm strength and accuracy, but he isn’t expected to throw that much anyways, so instead he is working on twists to get better at handing the ball off.
