So yeah, these cases aren't that different, but we aren't bound by precedent, especially ones made by a totally different head office and one that was overall considered a bad decision. Rules can be changed, and so can precedents. Remember the awful RFA tag? That was a rule, but changed because it was really bad. Same with this and same with any rule change we've made to help the league.

From a GM standpoint, I liked the RFA tag. I haven't really bought into the idea of it being a "players" league where everybody can just have what they want but I understand your point.
Although you probably won't have a rule for every possible scenario, the rules you do have are kind of poorly worded. Not having a rule implemented after the original GibsonGate left yourselves vulnerable for history to repeat itself. Plus, changing a rule or precedent after a violation is pretty sketchy and goes back to my statement: the league's rules are subjective based on who is involved.
Unless we want to open the flood gates that everything which is not forbidden is allowed. Then things around here can get real creative.
