We’ve had a lot of new faces enter the Yeti facilities recently, and we’ve seen some old faces leave. But, to be frank, none of the new additions are guys who are very involved in the locker room. In a trade with Philadelphia, we tried to solidify some positions where we’ve been struggling by adding some roleplayers to the roster. Norman Bagwell, Willy Nyquist, Fox North, and Ryan Flock all headed to Colorado. We’ll have to see how they perform on the field, but their locker room presence has been nonexistent. For the most part, they’ve been showing up to practice and meetings, but it’s hard to say that their careers are on an upward trajectory.
We then brought in former standout Terrell Brister to help our struggling secondary. This guy was a phenom early in his career, but it seems like he’s hit his ceiling. He’s going to be an upgrade over what we had, to be sure. How much is he really going to offer, though? He won’t be a locker room leader, but it’s important to have roleplayers, as not everyone can be a team captain. Still, after some misses in the draft and acquiring some declining talent, it’s hard to see who is going to be the next young gun to step up for this team.
