In hindsight, how do YOU feel about your rankings? Did we really learn anything from what we saw last night?
Yes, NOLA was explosive but they did host the 'Not really Trying' Liberty so I personally would discount their performance. They will still be an exciting team to watch this season.
COL handled ARI easier than the final score appears. ARI had a great 4th quarter but the hole they were put in early was too much to overcome. Maybe if they could have pushed for OT they could have closed it out.
OCO managed to beat SJS. That's what I predicted but I wasn't really sure what to actually expect from either team in week 1.
Finally, Hawks win on the road at YKW. Hawks are ranked better in every aspect except maybe FG kicking, sorry @Raven , but we know how mush of an uphill battle road games can become. I am happy for the win but I wasn't necessarily impressed by our performance. Thoughts? @kckolbe
Here are some things I saw Week One that I hadn't expected. 1 game is too soon to say, but I was thinking some things.
#1: Yellowknife's offense still seems to be underperforming. Only 13 yards more than Philly, and Philly was on the road as opposed to at home for YKW.
#2: NOLA's defense seemed more vulnerable to the run than expected. Maybe it was just a scheme issue, as they certainly did well against the pass, holding Noble to a negative TANY/A. But allowing a rookie with only a slightly above average OL 126 yards is not a good start.
#3: Westfield needs to have a penalty applied. However, Showbiz didn't look as good as I expected. Despite a great receiving corps, Showbiz struggled to find them.
#4: Fyodorovich has officially broken out. 4 PDs in one game may already sound very impressive, but Noble only threw 26 passes.
