With just a few hours left before the deadline, the phones are ringing and Front Offices are scrambling to get one last offer in to help push their team far into the playoffs. In a league like this one, you need to be solid everywhere, and you have to be willing to sacrifice a piece in order to move forward.
That is exactly what the Colorado Yeti intend to do, to. In order to cement their walking path to the Championship, they will need to protect NSFL MVP candidate, Logan Noble, and allow him adequate time to get the ball out to his receivers. Yeti are in dead last in Pass Offense, and pundits don't know who is to blame. Is it that Noble isn't allowing his receivers enough time to get open, or if he is putting them in positions to not gain yards after the catch? Is it his receiving core not leaving it all on the field? Is it the offensive line not allowing enough time? All we know is, he needs to feel safe back there in order for him to perform better, and while they have surrendered the second least sacks, its apparent that Noble is rattled in the pocket.
Colorado Yeti
will offer WR Jonathan Shaloiko and a 3rd Round Pick for Orange County Otters
T Cliff Hamilton.
The Orange County Otters are the Second best Pass Offense in the league with only two real options at WR. While Phelps and Westfield are truly setting the league ablaze with a serious one-two punch at the receiving position, they are leaving opposing teams with an easy solution. You can double both of them and force the TE and RB to earn short yardage against one of the strongest positions in the league, Linebackers. Adding a third option at WR gives the Otters more diversity in the passing game, as well as a much needed breather for the two ironmen currently on the roster.
Yeti are giving up a 3rd option at WR and a draft pick to add a stud lineman from arguably the Offensive Line in the league, who is under contract for 3 years. On the other side of the trade, the Otters are adding a reliable receiving talent to shallow position and adding a draft pick to potentially fill in the spot they are vacating.
When you can protect the Quarterback, you have to give him weapons to throw to. If you give him weapons to throw to, you have to protect him. This trade makes it a very likely possibility that these teams meet up in the Championship to face off for all the marbles.
