With the days winding down, and thus the trade deadline fast approaching, San Jose took a long hard look at themselves. Coming off an impressive win against the Yeti, their morale was high and a roster shakeup was the last thing on their mind, but management knew that there was still so much room left to improve.
In a move unprecedented and unexpected in the league, the SaberCats announced that they would be shipping off their star receiver Bailey Cook to the Arizona Outlaws who would be joining a bevy of talented receivers there. Reminiscent of the Cleveland Browns front office, talks of competence, or lack thereof, swirled among the media, and yet, San Jose stood composed, sure of their decision. Their faith in newly acquired quarterback Ethan Hunt obvious. Hopefully for their sake he can deliver to anyone, seeing as they are now left without a true number one wide receiver.
In return, the Cats acquired a number one and number four pick in the upcoming draft, clearly very sure that, or hopeful, that they can land a new star or two. Perhaps it is a move that will work out for the best. Changes obviously need to be made, but at the wideout position? I'm not so sure. We'll have to wait and see.
