Season two is promising to be an exciting ride with a plethora of promising rookies prowling the sidelines waiting for their chances at glory. Some luckier ones are even day one starters, myself included. I'm most anxious to really prove myself, though. With no interest in taking the easy route, I'm most hopeful to face off against Dermot Lavelle, the number one pick. Being highly touted following a very successful pre rookie season, Lavelle has proven to be a shutdown defensive back that I absolutely think I would thrive against. That's not to say Dermot isn't a standout corner, but that high pressure situations are where I'm at my best.
With no regular season schedule, I'm unsure when that opportunity will come, or for that matter, if I'll be lined up across from Lavelle or Koetter that game, but the anticipation is persistent, nonetheless. If I plan on making Dustin Evans a household name, I've got to believe I can play with the big boys. I won't make it anywhere by fluffing my stats against weak defensive backs. I need to live up against the corners that think they'll put me on an island and leave that game with them understanding it's not going to be a good day when they've got to play the Outlaws.
