It was considered. The reason it is more expensive now because you basically get to distribute the tpe however you like, which costs 0.1M per tpe with the old system.

The reason people picked and chose equipment who weren’t max earners was due to the extra reallocation cost.

I feel the same as a lot of others. I harshly disagree with the reduction in TPE. If you want to price hike, price hike. But don't price hike AND reduce the TPE earned. You already increased the cost, that should be enough. There is no reason people should be able to earn less TPE now.

My biggest metric when coming up with this scale was "Cost per TPE", which indeed went up compared to the old system (which was apparently one of the reasons behind this proposal), however it is slightly less than what was originally proposed (meaining I tried to make it a bit more fair?). If you have any suggestions on how it should be please post it in the Suggestion Box or tell your GM's to suggest it as a rule change.

PS: We are discussing 2 less TPE per season and I really don't understand how that is a problem.

Since the new equipment is no longer directly linked to stats, is the TPE allowed to be banked or do you still have to apply it directly to some stat immediately when buying it?

I guess my confusion comes from why is taking away the 2 tpe something that needs to be done.

C'mon dude, this is silly. When the rule was proposed and passed, it was still at 32 TPE. We shouldn't have to wait a season and propose a new rule just to get things back to how they were already supposed to be.

Edit: And I get that HO has discretion to play with rules after they're voted on, but the TPE reduction doesn't do anything to resolve the actual issues around TPE flexibility and redistribution, it's just an extra thing thrown in because HO felt like it. If you're going to take GM suggestions and then make major tweaks like that, GMs should be aware that those are in consideration before they vote so they can give feedback and vote accordingly.

Imo a major tweak would be making the highest tier give you 25 tpe or cost 20m. I consider this rearrangement to be a minor tweak.

To be fair anything TPE related will never be considered minor. We hoard TPE like a meth addict hoards his mothers wallet.
