Oh wow. I asked in the Wraiths discord what the rule was and got the opposite, and between that and comments above I'd say a few of us need to adjust. I will fix mine by preseason.

It's a good question. I actually am waiting on an archetype change and was not aware of this. Good catch on the rulebook, but perhaps a note could be added near the archetype/position change to make it more clear. (In my case, the only equipment TPE that I redistributed was 4 TPE in Tackling, but I will be content to keep it there if that is the intended way of handling it.)

I definitely understand the argument for not allowing it. Say for example, I position change to a linebacker. Had I always been a LB, I would have spent my points differently. The 50% redistribution is meant to reflect this. However, the equipment TPE would never have been applied any other way because it can only be applied one way. However, it does create more work for the updater as they have to review all equipment history for that player, so perhaps simplicity was the reason for allowing it before.

I'm curious to see a reply from HO or whoever can clarify this.

Not that it matters in my case. The TPE that remained when I redistributed was more than what I gained from equipment anyway.

But it's sounding like there needs to be some serious auditing lol... uh oh

For what it's worth, I actually just fixed my update to keep the 4 TPE in Tackling since that seems to be the normal way of handling it. Still curious on the official ruling, though.

I mentioned this in discord and people seemed to like it. I think you should be able to retroactively change the equipment you purchased to other equipment, but not allocate 100% of TPE. So let's say I switch to kicker. I can change my S2 and S3 glove purchases to Kicker purchases. But keep my shoulder pads, ETP and Shoes as is. All those would help me as a kicker. But I can't take the speed I got from shoes and pour that into kicking or intelligence.

If you use history as a guide I think it's pretty apparent that timeconsumer never shies away from doing extra work. Even if that work is to be undone later.
