But where do you draw that line? Think about the series we are doing where I am encouraging blind bias. One could argue that it isn't really as "worthy" as traditional articles. Similarly, the Alex Jones one was, from an information standpoint, no better than this. Sure, you may have enjoyed it more, and I can see why, but both are lacking substance.

Honestly, I'm kind of okay with it. Every once in a while articles are written for fun, like the rankings of team logos, possibly the first great shitpost in the media section. I do think this is a worthy topic for the suggestion section, and would actually like to hear our head grader's thoughts.

Yea but I don't think that line should be drawn here. He clearly put some effort into it, by linking old posts, and finding images that were 'appropriate'. Some things I have a problem with in here, but that's not for a public forum

Fair. I mean... I got a bonus for parodying children's story. Easy to argue it was also kind of a shitpost though. I guess some shit posts are legit funny and maybe should still be rewarded for IC value.

As it stands there is an implied quality bar -- as I said in the gfx discussion; we cant just post 700 words of lorem ipsum and get paid -- but nothing formally acknowledged. Not sure there needs to be either tbh. If the consensus (among graders) is that it's a shitpost then graders can just move it to the thunderdome instead of paying out. Give the user feedback and move on. No?

EDIT: on reflection... I think half my media posts are technically shit posts tbh.

Okay, let's unpack this.

So as one of the people (heavily) referenced in this piece, it would've been nice to have gotten a heads up. There's only one piece of content in there I have a problem with, but I've already talked with someone about it. The real thing I have a problem with is the idea of attacking people (even as a joke) for (fake) money. If you've talked to all the people involved, checking whether this fits their character's narrative, seeing if it's okay to say certain things about them; then you should be fine and it would be considered a media article. If not and you're just trying to start something, take it to the Thunderdome.

I want whoever's grading media to set a precedent. I suggest that this piece only get half the payout, to discourage others from just needlessly flinging potentially hurtful shit around, especially when they haven't talked to those mentioned about it. If you were doing actual analysis of stats, sure, you wouldn't have to talk to the person about it. But if you're doing something that creates a narrative, no matter whether it's meant as a joke or not, talk to the person before you post it to see if they're okay with what's being said. I would've said yes, but maybe others would say no.

Overall, this is about being respectful to each other. Yeah, it's the internet, but this is also meant to be a community. We don't need to alienate people and we should have a somewhat welcoming environment if we want this league to grow and continue to grow. Archon wrote it and should be paid for his writing, but we shouldn't encourage this style of writing.
