The NSFL network is committed to giving you stories on the latest scoop with the NSFL and their partnered franchises. Going into the NSFL Regular Season, many are looking at the quarterback stories from each team. Many teams have battles at more than one position but none can be as talked about as the Quarterback situation for each team. Some squads have only one quarterback and some even have three they may rotate. The reason story seems to be who has the best secondary and how they defend these quarterbacks. The Arizona Outlaws have claimed their secondary is the tops in the league. However, the Outlaws went 0-4 in the pre-season and their secondary struggled. If the Outlaws can actually pull themselves together they may prove people right. If they falter though, you know the rest of the league won't let them forget their own hype train. Runningbacks are another position of note as many battles were going on in the pre-season. Some teams feature a speed back and a power back and some teams even have a third down back to compliment their roster. It remains to be seen what type of back will strive in the NSFL and who comes out as the rushing leader.

The Yellowknife Wraiths have investors on edge already just prior to the inaugural season of the NSFL. It has become clear the team Bubba Nuck has put together, maybe hurting the Wraiths stocks. The news that Josh Garden had been chosen 2nd overall hadn't done it any favors to start with. The NFL wash out and repeat drug offender became the face of the franchise. That worried investors on the possible complications of having such a team image in an already sure to struggle harsh winter climate.

Not soon after the draft more headlines broke as a supposed prank war, between rival QB's LeClair and Orosz ended in 2 search warrants and a half dozen 911 calls. The Wraiths parent company, Northern Oil LTD. had seen a drop of 4.7% in stocks before the prank war had been laid to rest. It is quiet simply going to be a miracle if the organization can bounce back from such an early hiccup.

But it does seem to only be the big money sponsors who are concerned. Fans nation wide are already to get the season under way. Merchandise has been flying off the shelf's faster than it can be stocked and 5 of the 7 home games have already been sold out. Will we see the Wraiths survive another financial day?

It's no surprise that teams that can't win in the Preseason have a lot of work ahead of them in order to come together during the regular season. It also is no surprise that these teams also struggle to win a lot of games. Is it the scrambling the Front Office and Coaches do in order to prepare their team to put them in a better position to win? Is it the players inability to improve over the course of time and succeed? You can't place the blame on any one thing.

Some people say it's just "Bad Luck," or "Impossible to turn things around," and they aren't entirely wrong. Teams have went winless in the preseason 114 times in Pro Football History, and only 13 have ever made it to the playoffs. Six teams lost before reaching the Conference Championship, Five teams have reached the Conference Championship game, but only a whopping THREE TEAMS have ever reached the Super Bowl. Only one team in the history of Professional Football has won a Super Bowl Championship after losing all of the preseason games. The 1982 Washington Redskins won the Super Bowl after turning it around and going 8-1 during a shortened season.

The real question everybody is asking this year is, will the Arizona Outlaws right the ship and win it all? Will they become the second team to flip the switch, or will they fall short and hope to improve next season?

Will 4-0 preseason Hawks go 0-14 in regular season?

The Baltimore Hawks were one of the suprising teams this preseason. A team who on power ranking more often than not were placed at the bottem of the rankings. Might have been a bit underestimated when preseason came around. They posted a 25-3 blowout victory against the Yeti's, beat the Wraiths 31-10, were a leg up on the Otters and won 16-9. The last game was against the Outlaws which appeared to be one of the tougher rivals. The hawks won 9-8 after kicker Turkelton scored his 3rd field goal at 7 minutes into the last period. Now the regular season is about to start, everyone is now claiming the Hawks will see a simaler season to the 08' Detroit Lions who went undeafted in preseason and then went winless in the regular season.

Ofcourse anything can happen in the season to come and with the season started soonl, fans of all franchises are getting hyped to see how their team will fair in the first ever season. Will preseason form continue or will the tables be flipped completely? Will the Hawks keep up their dominating game, will kicker Turk Turkleton keep kicking them in?

One of the biggest stories coming out of San Jose SaberCats camp is not one of controversy, but rather of a good problem to have. The two highly touted Wide Receivers the team uses, Bailey Cook and Shane Weston, have taken turns impressing in the preseason. This was to be expected, and many have confidence that these two will eventually be able to get it in sync for the season as they develop their games.

But perhaps the biggest surprise, and the thing pushing San Jose's receiving corps over the top, is their Tight End, Break Bottles. Bottles was a relatively under-the-radar prospect entering the inaugural draft, and the 'Cats were able to nab him at 81st overall, a pick coming in the fourteenth round. This unprecedented successful player (so far, at least) has shown dedication in the training room, and hopes to grow his player to great heights, helping himself and his team along the way.

A quick look at each player's best preseason game will show that they are all capable of making large amounts of noise.

Cook: Week One versus the Wraiths, the possession receiver caught five passes for eighty-four yards, in an otherwise less-than-stellar performance from Jameis.

Weston: In a loss against the Orange County Otters, the late pick led all receivers with fifty-six yards on six catches, stepping out from the pack.

Bottles: Week Three against the Outlaws, the big TE caught six passes for forty-seven yards and two touchdowns.
With Cook, Weston and Bottles catching passes from gunslinger Jameis Christ, it should prove to be a veritable aerial attack when the regular season hits!

Orange County Otter's Strength Coach Hospitalized

Tensions are running high in the weight room at the Orange County Otters training facility in advance of the start of the regular season NSFL games. According to an anonymous source a incident occurred this weekend in the weight room that led to the team strength and conditioning coach, Kent Liftum, having to go to the hospital with minor injuries.

This source tells us this started when Liftum allegedly tried to tell the Otters offensive linemen that they were focusing too much on squats and deadlifts, and that they should work on their "functional strength". It is unknown who threw the first plate, some believe the past violence of Boyd or Clegane indicates they are the most likely suspects. Others claiming they saw Hamilton or Winchester escalate the situation.

The same anonymous source told us "I don't hang around out when the [offensive] line is in the weight room. They have an intensity that scares the crap out of me."

We were unable to reach the Otters front office team or Mr. Liftum for comment. The team's lawyers were seen with Liftum as he left the hospital. Liftum was rumored to be seen at a Mercedes-Benz dealership later that day.

SaberCats Front seven during the draft the SaberCats knew they had a solid front 7. They didn't realize just how solid it was until they sat down and started drawing up the depth chart. While the team looks to be an offensive team, they didn't waste anytime, or spare a chance for talented defense. Lets look at their front 7.


Alex Selich - Of course we start with the leader of the defense, it's not shock San Jose took him 4th overall. At middle linebacker he can do it all.

AC Hackett - Hackett came recommended by Bailey Cook as they had played together growing up. Hackett has been a pleasure, and a great fit at WLB.

Bert Metas - Converted to linebacker for the inaugural season, and has been a nightmare in the preseason and in practice. His selflessness scored him big points with SaberCats management.

Dan Miller - One of the leaders of the D Line, and a true trench grinder. While he's not always making the big plays he's eating double teams, allowing for other players to get sacks and TFL's.

Josh Cameron - The SaberCats had Cameron circled high on their list at DT, luckily they were able to bring him in. While they aren't the biggest names Cameron and Miller are a DT tandem to keep an eye on.

Greg Taylor - Another guy who flew under the radar but has performed well thus far for San Jose. If Taylor continues his training regime he adds another ace to this front 7.

Sensabaugdy Leafer - Rounding out the front 7 is another DE, who fell late in the draft but plays with a chip on his shoulder.
