Depends on the relative value of the return you can pick up from OCO, but yeah I'm not sure that it's worth the outlay of the pick (especially since I'm sure most teams have a S2 draftee who has been playing well for them and they'd like to pick up)

Classic Clegane the guy is loyal, but if teams don't value their first rounder enough to waste it on a guy who won't sign then either way the Otters win.

Ordinarily I wouldnt comment again on an article I wrote, but I felt the discussions were getting wildly outside the focus of the article's intent.

If I were an expansion GM, Id gladly take this guy top 2.  Then hold him for a ransom from the Otters.  If they don't want to pay it, I'd gladly do it again next season.

This announcement hurts the Otters leverage to get him more than anything else.

I have no connection to OCO GMs. They have no pressure to acquire me. No one has to give up a ransom for me at all. I've just taken a poison pill, voluntarily, and the only way it is fully effective is if everyone knows about it. Now they do.

I stop playing? The whole point in joining to league was to play with RL friends who now live across the continent. I did not know when I started I would have to go into a merry-go-round of teams a month after starting. Maybe people text me when the next season starts, where I sign a FA contract with the Otters. I really do need to do more studying for professional exams before my sabbatical next fall.

If so, I'd like to say your draft stock with me has fallen. The draft is supposed to be a fair way to divy out players and while you didn't technically break any rules but saying you'll do this it still goes against the integrity of the league and is kind of selfish in my opinion.

Dropping my draft stock was the whole fucking point of the article my man!
I know, I am being terribly selfish for wanting to be on a team with friends. I realize we will split up eventually, but I would like atleast a couple of seasons to get to know the game. To be fully honest, I never intended to be a top prospect in the draft.

1) Let's stop pretending Clegane is just a random S2 rookie. He is one of the S2 prospects TPE leaders and is at a premium position. He is a top prospect in this draft, every team in the league wants him.

2) Let's review a real life case of this, the Eli Manning trade. The San Diego Chargers drafted Eli 1st overall despite Eli publicly stating he would never play in San Diego. On draft day, the Chargers traded Eli to the New York Giants for the 4th overall pick, a 3rd round pick, next years 1st round pick, and next years 5th round pick. There are real life comparisons we can look at.

As such, if I were an expansion GM I would draft him. If the Otters don't want him, then maybe I'm stuck with a player that refuses to play. But, as even Clegane stated, if the Otters don't want him he'd play for any team, so maybe I'd still be able to convince one of the top prospects to play for my team. Heck maybe he even tells me who his friends in the Otters are and I try to acquire them instead of trading him. Simply put, the risk would be worth the reward.
