(S6) - PT2 - New Teammates

I didn't think I'd be talkin' about new teammates this season other than all the new fellas I met during training camp, but Mark Grau (@keanex) recently joined the team and I'm happy as a clam in high tide to have him on the team. We needed a real target with some explosiveness and I think Grau and me are going to light up the DSFL like stars in the big Texas sky! Of course I'm excited to play with the DSFL legend Borro Gore (@Goretron). He's an unstoppable force once he gets goin' down the field and I already know teams are going to have to work hard to figure him out. I think we got a good flow goin' between myself and Christ and we play snaps pretty evenly know so I can learn the ropes from him. He's been my biggest mentor since Austin Roenick left the team to play in Baltimore and I've felt blessed since gettin' the chance to work with him one on one as a quarterback. I'm gettin' all teary eyed now talkin' about him since it'll be his last season in the DSFL so I'm goin' to make the most of my time to learn from a great quarterback before he rides off into that sunset.

Big name free agent? Lol. Baltimore don't get those. But what we have been fortunate to get is great players through the draft and through trade. This year the squad has been extremely fortunate to add linebackers Noah Goodson @toivo and Austin Roenick @Leafer. From day one they have fit right in as high character and hard working teammates. The Hawks were desperate for help in the front seven of their defense coming into this offseason, adding both of those players was a huge score and has the team and fans around the city very excited. Both are young players that will continue to improve throughout the season. In Goodson's case he was the first overall pick in the S4 draft two seasons ago, with Roenick he was the 6th pick in the most recent draft. Goodson is a coverage type of linebacker, so he'll be playing the weak side LB position where he will cover slot WRs and TEs, attack the left side of the OL on blitzes, and contain the opposing RB. Roenick is a balanced type of linebacker. He'll be playing the middle LB position and be the defensive signal caller on the Hawks defense. He'll be in charge of making tackles sideline to sideline and making sure the defense is running the correct play. I'm confident these two additions will bring the defense to higher levels. (230)

In the Liberty we only got one new active rookie, and he doesn't use Discord. So I'm going to talk about my suddenly revitalized Kansas City Coyotes LR. Both Ahriman and I knew that the S6 Draft was crucial, especially with all the talent in the draft - from Howard Miller, a generational WR prospect, to Bubba Beau-Boucher, a talented QB who dropped to the later rounds. The crew we got from that draft is astounding, and while I'd banked on getting some send downs, such as Jack Dwyer ( @Neckbishop ), back to the team, the rookie crew proved more than capable of picking up the slack. Also the sending down of Robby Rainey gave the offense a powerful running option instead of the mediocre Marcus Robinson. We've already seen what the new guys can do, after the Coyotes absolutely destroyed the Luchadores, 37-7. Miller lived up to the hype and had over 100 yards, and new waiver pickup DeAndre Green racked up over 60 yards. The defense pitched a shutout but the ST unit allowed a ST TD. In the preseason, many defensive players shined as well, with waiver pickup Ryan LeFevre picking off "Cowboy" McCoy twice from the hybrid LB/S position, and late-round steal Thomas Kane III posting an impressive 15 tackles on defense.

I'm excited for this season for the Coyotes!

It's hard for me as Rookie in the DSFL to single out one particular teammate as being most important to team success. Big surprise for me was whole waiver claim process, where multiple teams reached out even though they weren't sure that I may end up playing for them. Draft order and rotating turns decided that I ended up with San Antonio Marshals. As I was claimed last minute I wasn't able to participate in the game versus Palm Beach Solar Bears. We were perceived as underdogs going 0-4 in postseason. But we overcame this and won 20-15, because of our defence that I soon hopefully become integral part. Three crucial interceptions by Jorge Masvidal, Jason Williams and Ben Urlacher swayed the tides of game in our favour. I can't wait to join this potent defence in the next game against Tijuana Luchadores (where I'd probably end up if not for San Antonio Marshalls). Another thing that is great in the team is mentoring - immediately after joining the team General Manager connected me with Alumni CB that guided me in what I should train to become most useful for team success. We also have two talented Quarterbacks (Mike Vick and Ryan Applehort) that should lead us in our way for title of Ultimini! What I enjoyed the most outside the field is how active the locker is with GMs Roly and run_CMC taking initiatives not only about team strategy but also about atmosphere and progress.

Standing 6 feet and five inches tall and tipping the scales at 300 pounds is defensive end Jayce TUCK!!!! While he isn't a sexy free agent signing or a shiny new draft pick he will be stepping onto the field for the first time a full season. "The Original Outlaw" is bringing his league breaking work ethic and swagger to the Wraiths team. Tuck is one of the most feared names both on and off of the gridiron and Yellowknife is very excited to have him on the field.

Tuck joins a very imposing defence with some scary players like Lavalle and Kane who are still gunning for their first Ultimas trophy. Management hopes that getting this sack machine on the field is the final piece needed to get the Wraiths over the hump. Tuck brings a wealth of knowledge and a winning pedigree that has possibly been lacking in the locker room and hopefully rubs off on the young players. Some have been vocal about the reputation that follows the maligned player and how it could negatively affect the locker room. The players firmly believe in the leadership core of this franchise and know that Jayce will bring the heat but will only burn the other team.

I’m actually excited about almost all of my new teammates… and, man, are there quite a few of them. First and foremost, I have to give a shout-out to the steal of the draft, our new kicker Forfeit, who we somehow picked up in the third round after he was predicted by many to go in the first. He’s highly active, which is rare for a kicker these days. In fact, he’s already surpassed our old kicker Joseph Lombardi by 50 TPE, making him an immediate upgrade.

In addition to Forfeit, the Wraiths also picked up several offensive players, surprising many people. We’ve developed a reputation as an offensive-heavy and everyone expected to go defense-heavy as a result, but we’ve quietly put together a solid defense and the picks that fell to us provided us with a chance to start building the future of the team. Glenn McPoyal has already moved into a starting role as a TE2 / receiver and adds a much needed layer to our current line-up, adding a reliable set of hands that will surely play a role this season. We also picked up a trio of RBs in Borro Gore, Robby Rainey, and Willy Nyquist. It’s hard to predict how things will shake up for them all, but this practically guarantees that one of them will test the test of time to inherit the starting RB role from myself and Bubba Nuck. And, of course, we’ve seen that great players always rise to the top and I’m confident that all three men will find a place if they stay active. It’s an investment that may take time to pay off, but it’s one that I’m very confident in.

Austin Roenick has just entered the hawks so he would consider himself as a new addition to the hawks but that does not mean so much. Though the hawks did not make any signing because no one wants to sign with the hawks apparently, but they did get one from the draft who is Noah Goodson. Another linebacker from the draft similar to austin roenick and it is a huge improvement for the backend defense. He can be a coverage linebacker and play good defense and help the opponent to fuck off. Roenick is balanced so he can do the same but also kick their butts and throw the football in the oppoiste direction. This will really help the hawks defense issues and in time to win that Ultimus for sure. Roenick did play QB though so it will be interetsing for sure to see how he does in that position.

Though the hawks did not make such big blockbuster trades or big free agency signing but they rely on their future by drafting star players and hopeful they turn out to be they hope they turn out to be. So this PT wa shard but I said what I had to say.

well lets see, in the short time ive been in the Yeti locker room everyone has been a complete dickheaded, poopy faced (no offense @speculadora) and just a general asshole. Did I get you? I think I got you. In all seriousness the Yeti have been a great team and they're all awesome guys. Getting to be in the presence of future hall of famers like Jonathon Saint and Boss Tweed is awe inspiring. Nick Pierno is pretty cool too and I think he really wants to succeed. He's been putting in a lot of work to make sure we can play the best football we can.

A big name free agent we signed was A.C. Hackett. I think the guy is awesome and we've nicknamed our linebacker core 'saints row' (incoming media about that). I think in a couple years Colorado is going to be a team to be reckoned with once we all develop. I am looking forward to playing with these guys and cannot wait to see what we can do with all the new additions. I am not saying Colorado is going to be ultimus champs after this season but in time we will work our way there!

There's a lot to be excited about in Kansas City, with a wide variety of new faces expected to help turn around the team's misfortunes.

One of those faces are my own, with the hope that DeAndre Green can help stretch the defense and provide a safety blanket for Quarterback Mark Strike. I am hoping to ensure my player can continue to grow and develop into one of the premier receivers in the league and become one of the best in a very WR-heavy draft upcoming.

On Defense, the addition of Ryan LeFevre is sure to help ensure team's can catch up to our high-powered offense. By being a LB/DB Hybrid, I am excited to see him patrolling the field on that side of the ball and completely lighting people up when they try to come across the middle.

I'm also looking forward to playing with Stone Hans. He is one of the better receiving tight ends in the game, already scoring a touchdown in the first week of action. Him, myself and Howard Miller are sure to cause defensive backs and linebackers fits.

While Kansas City may have the reputation of being a basement team, I'm excited to see what the season is going to behold.
