Every draft is a chance for a team to address two things: the future and the team weaknesses. The Wraiths, coming off another Ultimus loss in S5, clearly did not have many holes. Right? Well we did have a few things that weren't perfect. Since the beginning of the Wraiths team, the TE position has been a revolving door for talent. TEs coming off great seasons come here to die, and TEs who leave Yellowknife seem to do okay. Well, the Wraiths are hoping to buck that trend with the addition of Glenn McPoyal. Another great TE out of Portland (shout out to my boy Carlito Crush) McPoyal gives the Wraiths an offensive threat at the position, and also a great young offensive talent as the Wraiths look towards the future. And talking of the future, the S1 guys are nearing regression time, so what better way to address some future problems than to draft the best RB the DSFL has seen, probably ever. Borro Gore is a monster, getting drafted 1st round. Yet, he won't see a snap in the big leagues this year. But as the wiley vet Bubba Nuck draws his career to a close, Gore will be there to elevate the run game even further in S7 and beyond. Finally, the final Wraith "weakness". The kicking game. So often special teams go under valued. And so often last year the Wraiths struggled with field position and kicking percentages. Well, in comes Forfeit to take over with already far superior kicking stats than last year's S3 veteran kicker. The Wraiths just picked up 3 impact players after just narrowly missing the championship last year. Watch out

Noah Goodson is entering his 3rd season of the NSFL, but he's the new guy in the locker room. Having been traded to Baltimore, Goodson finds himself surrounded by a lot of new faces. The Hawks needed to beef up at Linebacker so they made the move to bring Goodson in. In addition to Goodson, the Hawks added linebacker Austin Roenick. I'm excited to play with Roenick, and get continue to grow my player into an elite linebacker. I think that these two players the Hawks management brought in are solid, and will be reflected on as great moves that really help the Hawks chances in S6.

Noah Goodson was gave the media a quote about being a new face:

Yeah, it's interesting for sure. I was friends with a lot of the guys in Arizona, and I'm going to miss them. But, there's a lot of great guys that have welcomed me and have seemed like they're excited to have me here. That means a lot, and I want to show these guys what I'm capable of. I went 1st overall during a weak draft, so I get joked on about being Mister 1st overall, so I feel like I have to show them I was deserving of that honor.

Baltimore Hawks GM Gordon Gekko is no fool. Observing the Hawks last season, it was clear where their weakness lay -- the sparseness of their defensive front seven; in case you hadn't noticed -- and he made no hesitation bolstering it. The addition of linebackers Roenick and Goodson, as well as the selfless move to DL from veteran Erasmo Broadway gives the Hawks a much better look on the defensive side of things heading into season six.

Neither new guy would be described as "a character" in the same way as sorely missed former Hawks defensive lineman Ricardo Sandoval, for example... but the entire Hawks organisation is fairly low key. Goodson and Roenick's laid-back demeanour means they both fit in perfectly with the existing roster, and their willingness to do what is needed for the team has seen them embraced with open arms. If the Hawks locker room can maintain those bonds through season six, it seems likely their defense will only improve as the weeks pass.

It was largely the Hawks' impressive defense in season two that propelled them from the basement to NSFC champions, and since losing a conference championship game isn't exactly a ditch to crawl out of, it will be interesting to see how much further their newest additions can help them go.

The Otters are packing two new players on the defensive front with Elvin Enchant and Bogdan Wolcjik. Having been a dominating defense in the previous season many people do not have high expectations for two young rookies to be able to come on the field surrounded by such a talented front seven and be able to make an impact in the game, but I expect these young guys will find great ways to make their presence known on the field in season six.

First let's talk about Elvin Enchant. Falling to the Otters at the end of round one nobody thought the Otters would be willing to grab a linebacker when they had three of the best already. However they decided they wanted to make a spot for the young talented player and moved their speed rush linebackers to strong safety. Opening a hole for Enchant was all it took as he started the season fast, notching an interception against the Second Line while they were deep in their own territory.

Meanwhile Bogdan came in to fill a hole on a stellar defensive line and replaced the retired Vinny Cox as well as the traded Adamle Tomlinson. He also did not wait long to generate his first impact play on the season as he nailed quarterback Borkus Maximum for a deep sack in the game. Both players together combined for some serious impact plays and will likely find more as the season goes on.

After losing in the Ultimini, I was really bummed to say the least because we had the most active team and best shot at beating the Palm Beach Solar Bear bots, but came up short in the end. After the season, I was drafted to the Philadelphia Liberty and I was excited to start a new season with an all new group of players. These guys are veterans and I think I have a lot to learn from them. After meeting our newly switched quarterback Oles, I got to meet the rest of the defense I’d be joining. Eli Kamaka was the first one to greet me in the locker room and Godfrey King along with Drew Davidson were there as well. Those guys have been around the league for a while so it was cool to see how excited they were to see me and talk about our next season. I’m excited to see how I do with this group of guys too since I didn’t have as much help on defense in the Pythons. It’s just a different level here in the NSFL and I think I can make an impact based on what the guys are saying about me in the new defense.

As an Outlaw, I was super excited to see them grab former Marshal @Robigo_ Rob Anderson. This guy is a beast on defensive who made an impact that was overshadowed by some of the other defensive and line backer prospects in his draft class. But as a fellow defensive player in Arizona and GM of his DSFL team, I was excited to see him picked. The trade for @Neckbishop Dwyer was also huge and I’m excited to see what this guy can do in the NSFL. With a sack each in the opening week, they’re off to a great start.

From a DSFL perspective, I’m excited by the offensive prospects that the San Antonio Marshals were able to grab in the DSFL entry draft. There were recreates like @Daybe and @andybj who have both shown a tonne of leadership in the locker room and are stand-up pivotal pieces of our team. Then new guys like @cpetrella and @TetrisTech are both active and involved, eager to become a presence in the development league. Our waiver acquisition @majesiu is similar: devoted, eager to learn, and excited about the league. There’s a lot of guys on the Marshals this season who I think any NSFL team would be lucky to grab in next offseason’s draft. Having guys like this make it so much fun to be a DSFL GM.

I am here today writing. What exactly am I writing about? Well if you continue to read on you're about to find out! Today I am writing about what I'm most excited to see in my new players. Now for those of you who do not know, I am now a Yellowknife Wraith. Which means there is a lot of new faces on my team. What I'm looking forward to is learning from the current tight end, Franklin Harris junior. I am excited to learn how to run better routes. He is a pretty damn good tight end. Franklin Harris junior that is. But someday soon I have a strong feeling I will be ready to take over his role as the number one tight end here in just a few seasons so I'm excited to soak up all of his knowledge. I am also excited to learn and make some chemistry with my new quarterback, Mat Akselsen. He is one of the best quarterbacks, and also one of the older quarterbacks in the league. I'm excited to build on myself and help out the Yellowknife Wraiths win a ultimus. Until then I will be working with all of my new teammates, training and buying new equipment to better us all.

Well, myself being one of the new teammates, it's hard to really say. I guess my favorite teammate right now is Alvin Chipmunk. I love me a good, big tight end to pass to. As tight ends go, he's got nice hands, and he's faster than a lot of the tight ends i played with in high school and college. It's nice to have someone who can catch the ball, especially since I get pressured so quickly. We also brought in Vladimir Fyodorovich (Who's name I can't pronounce at all), another young rook. Now, Fyodorovich plays defense at the cornerback position, so it's nice to be able to have a guy who has a chip on his shoulder and is willing to step up into a higher role, make big plays and play a part in our games. The third and last guy I want to talk about is Footballer Catcherman. One hell of a name for a wide receiver. He's fast, has quick feet, and soft hands. With that sort of build, I'm very excited to see him develop, and later in the season, be a great deep ball threat for us, since he is definitely a guy to look out for.
