Quote:Written: Must include 200 words. The season is close to starting and as always you have some new faces in the locker room. Whether it's a new crop of rookies or that big name free agent, there's always someone new on the team. Write about what you're most excited to see from the new players.
I think the Hawks landed some solid people during the build up to this season. A good draft brought in Austin Roenick. A player who actually started out playing at the quarterback position, but after being drafted to us hawks, decided to try his game in a whole differnt area and started focusing on playing as a linebacker. Roenick is a hard working player and it shows in his gains and how easily it was for him to make the switch to a totally different position over the course of the offseason.
Besides the top lad Roenick, we also picked up Noah Goodson in a trade with the Arizona Outlaws. Goodson is as we say in the buisness, a linebacker. I am not sure what I want to say about this player. Goodson is pretty good son hah. He plays his game well and I like to believe he has made the transision from Arizona to Baltimore pretty well. Moving teams is always very exciting and nerve wrecking for players, so it's good to see him adapt so well. I also like the user behing Goodson. He's a pretty swell guy. (He's my gm in the shl so I have to say nice things about him)
So as you can see these are some quality players the Hawks were able to bring into the locker room.
The Baltimore Hawks have always made it a point to improve every off-season, and despite being called “stagnant” (by players on team that has qualified for the playoffs only once, no less), this season is more of the same. Last season, the Hawks offense was absolutely explosive, with a pro-bowler at every position (including 2 at WR), as well as comeback player of the year, offensive rookie of the year, and running back of the year. Needless to say, improving there would be difficult. The defense, however, that’s a slightly different story. While their secondary was impressive throughout the season, their front 7 was lacking, with very few stars. The first step for the Hawks GM was to trade for a young LB by the name of Noah Goodson from the Arizona Outlaws. The addition of Goodson was beneficial for a number of reasons as #1 they secured a young star, and #2 it allowed Erasmo Broadway to shift to the interior defensive line, essentially addressing two needs. Next, the Hawks spent their first-round pick on quarterback (and all-around stud athlete) Austin Roenick, with the intention of moving him to linebacker. Roenick, being a team player, agreed and has excelled at his new position, recording six tackles in his first game.

Well it's been a little more than 24 hours since I've been picked up on waivers and, as a first time professional football player, I couldn't be more excited to get to work with my fellow Luchadores teammates. Despite a slow start, I've been impressed with the talent that we have here in Tijuana, starting with our leaders: Sam Penner and Sydney Spinelli. During walk throughs yesterday as I was helping Sam Penner warm up, I could just sense the charisma that unites the team. Don't let them tell you that psychology isn't a crucial part of the game. As for Sydney...the first time I saw him I really didn't. It was more of a blur that flew past me down the sideline and I just had to connect the dots. Kids got wheels. I'd have to say the only one with a chance of catching him is one of the new guys (like me), Mandy Ross. I'm looking forward to getting to know him better--hopefully we are able to provide some of the pass-catching this team needs right now. Although we haven't spoken yet, I heard Desta Danger is newer too. He's had some hype about him too which is good, because we need some help on the defensive side of the ball. I mean, we've given up more points than our conference rivals combined. But I'm not worried, it's early in the season and from what I've heard Tijuana has a reputation for a stout defense. Don't count us out yet. ---Verso L'Alto
I'm fairly new to the San Antonio Marshals myself, having only joined in the middle of last season. However, we have welcomed many new faces to our team this year, one of which is fellow quarterback Ryan Applehort. I've spent a lot of time watching film and bouncing strategies off Applehort, and we've developed some great chemistry so far. It's not often you see professional football leagues roll a regular tandem at quarterback, but we think that our specialties balance each other, while our weaknesses can be complemented by the others' strengths. Applehort is your typical pocket passer while I'm more of a dual-threat quarterback. Although we didn't have the best preseason results-wise, it was very important for us as we got game action to execute on what we practice every day. I would say we have split snaps about 60/40 in his favour, but as seen in our most recent game against Kansas City, the coaching staff always has multiple plans to attack the opponent. I look forward to the rest of the season as we both continue our development, and hopefully we can bring San Antonio back to the playoffs after we unfortunately ended last season on a cold streak and missed out.
The new teammate I'm looking forward to spend this upcoming season playing alongside, is Jayce Tuck. Yes technically he was on the team last season, but he was suspended the full season and never played a single play for the Wraiths, so he's a new player for them. The guys probably the hardest worker in the history of the league, and by a wide margin too. I don't think anyone in their right mind wouldn't want to learn how to be such a harder worker than Tuck, just maybe not get caught cheating though.
And since we've became teammates, he's taught me a ton of stuff. For instance the tragedy of Tim Pest the bright, which when he told me, he made clear was not a story the general managers would tell me, as it's a multi legend. He also helped me to open my mind, that growing out a rat tail and moving to an very hot location for the off-season was the in thing now. But as I told him, I'm find with a hot location, just as long as it's not sandy, cause that's stuff coarse and rough and irritating. And you know what, since hanging out with Tuck, I'm not afraid to take out some new rookies if it helps me reach my cause.
It's quite a weird perspective to write this from, but as the only addition to the Sabercats this past season, Cordell Joshua is the main new face to look out for in San Jose. Drafted with the 2nd overall pick in the S6 NSFL Draft, the explosive defensive lineman from Tulsa, Oklahoma has had a slow start to the season in his first few games, which is arguably to be expected as he adapts to the much higher level of competition found in the NSFL compared to what he's playing in in the past. The Sabercats made a big move at the draft to acquire Joshua, being willing to give up their 1st in next years draft to outbid the Philadelphia Liberty and prevent them jumping over them to take Joshua. The manner of his selection obviously puts a lot of expectation on Cordell to be able to deliver the goods in the NSFL, and the coaches in San Jose are certain that given time, the results will follow shortly. A big addition to the team with the intention of him being the player to reinforce their defensive line and give them a pass rush option that the team has lacked in the past, Joshua will be hopeful that he can achieve big things with the Sabercats over the coming seasons.
Joining the Portland Pythons was a really big deal for me and I was glad that they were able to trade me there. After spending a few weeks in Tijuana, I was happy for a reprieve from being in a different country and my new teammates welcomed me with open arms. I think meeting McCoy for the first time was the most interesting experience I've had so far. The guy can go on and on talking about anything and everything. I couldn't believe how chatty he was in the locker room and I'm most excited to see how he does in the DSFL as a new rookie quarterback. I never played quarterback growing up, but I bet being on that side of the ball is rough especially with all the eyes on you. I'm also excited about Mark Grau too. This guy is really turning into a top notch talent and he's going to be a great receiver for McCoy and our offense moving forward. I'm betting them and Jordan Palemento will make a great pair of targets for McCoy. I believe I'm the only rookie on the defensive side of the ball too so I'm excited to see how I fit into the Pythons defense.
Rob Anderson here checking in. What am I talking about today? Well I’m following the lead of everyone else and talking about the new players and what I’m excited to see. Well like we all know, I’m a rookie. This means I am one of the new players that people should be excited about haha. But since I’m a new player, technically everyone on my team is new to me. And honestly, without seeming too generic, I’m excited to see what everyone has to offer. I have no experience with these guys and can’t wait to see how we all play together. I have a good feeling that we will all get along really well, but most importantly I believe we will all play together even better. I’m excited to see what we can all do together and how far we can go this season in the nsfl. But I’m pretty excited to work with my fellow rookie linebacker Jack Dwyer. We’ll be a force to be reckoned with defensively for the Arizona outlaws. I’m excited to see what kind of a linebacking duo we can become. It’s gonna be a great season and I can’t wait to see what we all accomplish.
The Arizona Outlaws didn’t get any first round picks in the Season 6 NSFL Draft, but they picked up some key guys in the second and third rounds. This includes QB Arbin Asipi Jr, LB Jack Dwyer, and LB Robigo Anderson. With training camp, preseason, and multiple weeks of the regular season already done, kicker / punter Dean Jackson has already gotten to know them a fair bit, but looks forward to working with them even more. The young Arbin Asipi Jr, strange aged “son” of the Outlaws legendary defensive tackle Arbin Asipi Sr, has actually switched his position from quarterback to defensive end, taking after his old man. Jackson has said publicly that despite a very slow start for the young rookie, he expects great things from Asipi in the future and can’t wait to watch him grow into the next franchise defensive lineman. As for Robigo and Dwyer, the linebackers are showing great promise, and no doubt will one day be crucial parts of the back 7. Now, Jackson doesn’t spend a TON of time with these guys cause they’re defensive and he’s special teams, but like, they play ping pong in the locker room sometimes. So it’s all chill.
