The Wraiths have some glaring weaknesses but overall, they have a very well balanced team. Great starters and leaders all across the board. The only question is if there's someone that another team drafted that can take them to a level that never would have been achievable?

Let's go ahead and take a look at a possibility..


Outlaws Receive:

With this one, both teams are able to make improvements in core areas of their defense. Sitting at the bottom of the league in sacks, the Outlaws get to add one of the best pass rushing DTs in the game right now to help get after the QB in the late playoff push. The Wraiths get one of the better coverage Linebackers in the league and a draft pick to compensate the loss of two starters. That trade of Bender allows the Wraiths to play more of Ben Green who can fit the role perfectly in place of Bender. The Wraiths move trade their fourth round pick to take the Outlaws' 2nd round pick which has the potential to be a mid 2nd or essentially a early third depends on how they do come playoff time.

Along with that, the Outlaws get an extra 7th round pick to sweeten the deal. The Wraiths gain a future 4th rounder to ensure that the youth continues to grow. The Outlaws get an improved S3 draft pick and the Wraiths get an improved S2 pick.

Sometimes the biggest deadline day deals are the ones that aren’t made. With many teams looking to make the final playoff push everyone is competing against each other to secure that one player that puts them over the top. Sometimes a team pulls the trigger and other times they stand pat with their current roster. This is one of those deals that didn’t happen.

With just hours before the deadline, the Arizona Outlaws GM had a crazy idea. What if he could acquire arguably the league’s biggest star? The wheels began spinning in the Outlaws front office as the team was closing in on star wide receiver Josh Garden. The Yellowknife Wraiths’ wide out was in the final year of his deal and many teams around the league think he might be available this offseason as a free agent. The Outlaws reached out to the Wraiths’ front office to see if they would be open to dealing Garden. Sources say that the Wraiths front office quickly put out a statement that Garden was already negotiating an extension with the team. However, there has been no confirmation of this from Garden.

Despite our prying, we have been unable to obtain any details regarding what the Outlaws were willing to offer in exchange for Garden. With no extension in sight, it appears ever more likely that Garden could leave the Wraiths in the offseason. If he leaves and the Wraiths get nothing in return, they will surely be asking themselves if this is the one deal they should have listened to.

It was a strange Tuesday night that’s for sure. Reports coming from the Otters’ and Wraiths’ camps were confusing at first, but became even more esoteric to the point where nothing was off the table. The first proposal was a fairly simple one that apparently went to the league for approval. The deal was allegedly that the Otters would offer a laminated picture of a hot dog for the rights to Wraiths QB Chris Orosz’s Gatorade bottle. There was no plan given as to what the Otter’s Co-GM, Jiggly Jiggles, wanted with it and when this paper reached out to him he declined to comment.

The final trade I heard about was much more controversial than the first. While the first had undertones of possible substance abuse from the Wraiths, the next involved an alleged nude gif of Baywatch star Alexandra Daddario. The Wraiths apparently began the negotiations asking for nudes in general to which the Otters offered the former “Percy Jackson” actress. Once that information was on the table, the Wraiths reportedly began offering almost every single player on their team minus a select few. The final deal was about to be for standout wide receiver Josh Garden, but talks broke down as the Wraiths began shifting around the deal and the Otters pulled out.

I’m thinking of quitting my journalistic job after covering this story as there is no longer any integrity left in the world.

The Baltimore Hawks have traded away starting running back Marcus Robinson along with a fourth round pick in the Season 2 draft in exchange for Boss Tweed, the second string running back for the Colorado Yeti. Robinson has been a bit disappointing so far into the season, averaging only 3.4 yards per carry in the Hawks offense. He is third in the league in attempts with 188, yet still hasn't rushed for over 20 yards a single time. On the other hand, Boss Tweed of the Colorado Yeti has been performing well with his limited carries. While remaining behind Kieran O'Connell on the depth chart, Tweed has put up an impressive 420 yards on 101 carries (4.2 YPC). This production has shown that Tweed has the ability to perform at the level of a starter, and he'll now have the opportunity in Baltimore. Overall, this trade benefited both teams. Baltimore now has Tweed at the RB position who can hopefully generate more offense for them. Colorado now has another RB on the depth chart who may have potential to get a few reps a game, but cannot handle the load of a starting RB. Colorado also receives a fourth round pick, allowing them to acquire more talent through the draft. The effects of this trade will be rapid, allowing us to see the results in the coming weeks.

The Colorado Yeti are looking to make a blockbuster trade, shipping one of their star running backs in return for an all-pro caliber offensive tackle. With Colorado's OL allowing 7 sacks in their week 10 meeting vs. the Otters, it has become clear that they are in need of more help in the trenches. They currently have 3 running backs on the roster capable of first-team reps, and with the expansion draft coming, they are inevitably going to lose at least one of these running backs, most likely two of them. Getting value for one of them now before the expansion draft would be the most ideal situation, as they will then be able to protect their new lineman and will be able to sufficiently protect their QB while taking pressure off the rest of the offense.

Keeping the Gaelic Thunder together (O'Connell and Tiernan) would be nice, as they are among the best 1-2 punches in the league, but the future of the team and long term success could be riding on the team's ability to keep the QB (Noble) safe from pass rushers. With star OL Bender Rodriguez doing almost all of the hard work, it would be a huge relief for not only him, but the entire offense. If there was a way to calculate hurries and pressures, I'm sure the Yeti would be among the worst teams at allowing pressure into the backfield. From TFL and sacks, this seems to be their biggest weakness and shoring up the OL should be priority #1.

The San Jose SaberCats after hearing reports of turmoil in the Arizona Outlaws locker room have made a move to capitalise on it. Trading away one of their S2 Rookies in order to gain more picks in the up coming draft.

The Outlaws after having trouble with their backfield committee and looking to make a playoff push have got a loan deal on a rookie running back, who is happy to play in a committee, and will be joining the S2 draft. San Jose gains a draft pick basically for free which they possibly could then use to bring Savea back to the team through the draft.
When asked to comment Savea said he was happy wherever, so long as he was getting NSFL experience, although he did see himself long term in San Jose. He hoped they would look at bringing him back in the draft. Asked about playing in a committee, Savea said it was basically a given for him as a rookie. But even some of the top running backs in the league are sharing carries he said, with all the talent at the position you basically have to expect it.
Perhaps the expansion will change this but there also looks to be some exciting talent entering the league in the S2 RB class.

Well im not to familiar with the league. So lets do a scenario I make up. Because the owner of the yetis and the otters are in different conference and favorite to be at the top of the league they decide to do a fun trade before the deadline. The otters trade all of their picks to the yeti and in exchange the yeti trade all of their draft picks to them. This is a fun trade between two gms that go way back to their assistant days in the national football league with the Green Bay Packers.
Because of the value difference of the players at the first round this trade will exclude first round picks. The goal for the gms of the otters and the yetis is to have fun now that they are the top of their career ladders but also build a good relationship for the young two organizations just in case they required trades in the future. For example if in season two the otters need a new qb, they could work out a deal with the yeti or maybe even get them involved in a 3-way trade because of the moves they made today before the trade deadline.

Baltimore Hawks trade: Matthew Peterson to the Yellowknife Wraiths

A deal potentially a long time in the making the Hawks trade from their position of strength to the Wraith's position of weakness. This helps solidify the Hawk's standing in the upcoming draft and the return should be nice.

Yeti trade: Kieran O'Connell to the Sabercats

A team with a slot available, they can afford to protect an extra running back due to the lack of talent on the roster. Some might say poor drafting has put them in a semi-enviable position for this upcoming draft. Having a running back tandem this strong might actually propel the Sabercats into being a team worth noticing.

Wraiths trade: Alexander LeClair to the Yeti

Pass catchers have been a strength of the Wraiths all season long. They can afford to give up their number two receivers to boost a secondary which has been lacking.

Sabercats trade: Second round pick to the Hawks

A second round pick in exchange for Peterson in this deep season 2 draft is an excellent haul for the Hawks and this trade can help turn around the Sabercats into potentially not picking this high next season.
