On March 25th, HO was made aware that user NicholasTheGreat had copied the bulk of another user's post in the "(S21) - PT2 - Hall of Fame" thread.

A recent case involving plagiarism of point tasks serves as our basis for this punishment, and can be found HERE. We’d like to remind everyone that copying a post and changing a few statements is still plagiarism.
The punishment will be:

--Loss of credit for PT2,
--A loss of 3 TPE from the player's current total TPE (the amount the user would have earned for the PT), and
--A fine of $2 million.

As usual, the user in question is welcome to contact iamslm22 if they wish to appeal their punishment.

also like, plagiarism can get you kicked out of college. I get this is just a point task but it's a) not something to be encouraged and b) seriously it's not hard to do your own PT, TPE should be EARNED

Only on this note (I have no opinion on the discipline or penalties), this PT was actually surprisingly difficult as a new user to make sure that you met the criteria of the task (player retired pre S19 and is not currently in HoF), but also had enough content to go off to make a case for their entry with no prior knowledge of the players. With the wiki HoF lists and HoF forum sections not necessarily lining up accurately and many players not having stats or even a wiki page at all this made things difficult and I went so far as to have joined another Sim league for the express purpose of having PT affiliation to avoid these types of tasks in the future.

I understand PTs are difficult to keep original and unique, while also relevant and interesting - but I spent a much morr significant amount of time on this task in comparison to others I've seen here and in other Sim leagues.

Not that any of this excuses plagarism, but I can understand being frustrated with the PT.

To add on to this, I had a friend join the league this week and I told him to skip the PT because even I couldn't do it. I'm just lucky to have PBE affiliation. Also the fact that he only copied the stats and not even really the commentary is a big fuck that.

also stop crying "PT 2 HARD" just skip it then don't cheat like a jerk. Thats what I did. No shame. Its about having fun, dont sully that by acting like a lame.
