Remember when he said another user could corroborate that he and the other guy were best friends? And then the other guy came and said he had never met the guy? Good times.

I get that we're sick of all his shenanigans though, and I fully expect him to actually try something in the future, but in this case I don't know if I see enough to be able to say he's guilty and deserves punishment Just my opinion though, it's not my job to make these kinds of decisions (and I'm kinda glad it isn't) lol (11-02-2017, 08:22 AM)JuOSu Wrote:Remember when he said another user could corroborate that he and the other guy were best friends? It's a classic case of Schrodinger's Cat. At this point, it's difficult to prove that Noble created a multi, but it's also difficult to prove that he didn't create one. All that's been done is introduce one of Noble's friends "Kyle" who may or may not be dustyatters. It could go either way. The video that was posted only proves Noble actually has friends. The vague mentions to the league only prove that a five-minute conversation took place prior to filming it. As much as we mess with the kid, I highly doubt that anyone is surprised that he has friends. I imagine we all do. It's entirely possible that Kyle is dustyatters, but it's also possible that the kid is just a friend that agreed to stand-in for Noble's multi.
In a court of law, the innocent need to be proven guilty, so based off the evidence available, the ban would probably be lifted. However, this isn't a court of law. It's a private group subject to its own internal rules and decisions. At this point, enough has been done that HO may not be willing to look past this and give Noble a second chance. Many do feel that, given his history, he got off easy with his last punishment and that he was going to have to tread lightly to last much longer here. That's the cost of his past actions. It sucks that his friend may potentially be banned for Noble's past actions, but those actions reflect on your reputation. And that reputation matters when questions like this come up. At this point, the situation is muddled enough that I would respect a decision either way. I'm not advocating either way. All I'm merely pointing out is that, the next time someone is caught with a multi, they can easily just grab a real life friend, have a quick chat about the NSFL, and post a 3-minute video of them standing together. I don't know how to get around that, but it's a legit issue. Maybe Kyle is dustyatters. Maybe the next person accused of being a multi will actually be userXYZ's friend, too. Or maybe not. It's not a fun spot for HO to be in. All I can think is that, to prevent this from occurring again. maybe a question needs to be added to character creation: Do you share an IP address with anyone in the league? If so, let us know who and how you know them. That user can then be added to the existing list, but it would require the person to be upfront about it coming in. If they are not, then it hurts their case if they appear to be a multi later. It also needs to be said that if anyone is sharing an IP and has not announced it, they need to do so in a certain timeframe determined by the league, so that everything is out in the open going forward. I imagine we all do.o ![]() no but in all seriousness, I believe Carson should not be exonerated as he failed to take the proper action to avoid the situation, however, if Carson is able to prove without a doubt that Kyle is in fact dustyatters (suggestions include seperate calls where Kyle would be required to ask questions based on the DSFL or his player), Kyle should not be punished for literally doing nothing wrong other than putting his recruitment as madden under his friend's suggestion. Of course, he will probably go inactive because his friend isn't there to help him out, but he should be allowed to stay if he wants to. Carson has done everything he can given the situation and has offered to do whatever it takes ( :o ) to prove that he is not dustyatters. So let's see what it is u get me.
FYI we are trying to get this correct.
We hope to be in communication with Noble soon. (11-02-2017, 12:24 PM)7hawk77 Wrote:FYI we are trying to get this correct. It's a tough spot to be in. It's a messy situation and it could be replicated by others in the future. Even if Noble and Kyle are telling the truth, the next multi caught may pull in a friend and not being telling the truth. So, once this is settled, I hope consideration is given as to how to prevent this again in the future. I recommended above that we force people to admit sharing IPs at character creation or put an exact timeframe on it (first week after creation?) and clarify it in creation. This whole thing affects me as a Co-GM of the Blues who drafted him. When scouting players, I never once thought that any player could be a cheater. I give them the benefit of the doubt. I didn't have the time to vet every new player in suspicion of whether they could be cheaters. I just looked at position, stat distribution and their TPE earning since joining. No scouting PMs were sent because it's the DSFL. It's basically a showcase so people can prove their salt before joining the NSFL. When I saw Dusty got a league job, I thought "Damn, we got a steal. The dude is gonna be fire for us this season." I'll admit that I was swung by the initial evidence. I was convinced that Noble was Dusty but as it's been said and shown, there IS reasonable doubt, and I like to rely on the same judicial reasoning that a court uses, innocent until proven guilty. What would help, though, would be for BOTH of them to be on at the same time, at different locations, and have voice chats with HO members simultaneously, and HO members ask questions that would determine if Kyle is indeed Dusty or just a friend trying to validate Noble's lies.
